A nice card and a gift certificate to one of their favorite restaurants will do real nicely.

A personal gift is the best way to thank parents. They may have sometimes felt unappreciated over the years and something to let them know how much you do appreciate everything they've done for you would be the best gift.

A hand written letter - use your money to hire someone to put together some kind of photo/video DVD or collage to hang on the wall. It will be something they'll treasure and it's not about the money.

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments, meaningful things, and jokes that only you all would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some family pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it more of a homemade feeling.

This will show them how much you appreciate them.

What a nice and thoughtful person you are. Your parents have done a wonderful job! How about a picture collage of you growing up, with a graduation photo. Have it professionally done and framed. Send them out to a nice dinner. I'm sure they are very proud and will be touched by whatever you give them...

Why not give them a gift card for a dinner out at their favorite restaurant? And a movie? They might like to have a nice evening to themselves. And you can also get a really nice thank you card and write a sincere thank you from your heart to them.

Parents are tricky, and I hate to say this, but the older you get, the harder they are to buy for!!! (sorry :( ...) By the time I graduated, they were both retired(I was the youngest), so I bought them a nice piece of artwork to match thier home. Sounds lame, but it signified what they wanted from retirement and they LOVED it! Hope this helps...
B.t.w. CONGRATULATIONS!
