Sounds like you know his name. My advice, find the high school he graduated from. Most have an alumni that keeps addresses for their class to invite them to reunions. Also if you can get a year book, most people keep in touch with at least one person from High school. Do you know where abouts in the Navy he was stationed and what year. I believe you can go to a navel website and post a search for your father if you have some information. The last thing I can offer is I use to be a bill collector, we use to have to track and find people, I am pretty good, if you have a birthday and place and his name and age I could probably track him for you just through phone calls. Is your mom of any help. Do you know where they met? The best bet is tracking his last name in the surrounding area's from where he graduated high school, if it was a small town the better, people in small towns always knows where others went where they are what they are doing, ect. Good luck.

It's a tough one.
I met my dad for the first time 3 years ago, but only because his extended family insisted on keeping in touch with my twin and I, as well as my mum.

Yeah, I know you'd like to know your medical history which is important, but the most part of you wants to know your dad.

Bear in mind, he may not be the knight in shining armour you're looking for. I was 30 when I met mine, and I was lucky that it was a great experience.

I really can't give you any practical help, but I'd like to wish you the very best of luck.........just be prepared :)

Here in Australia there is a charity called the salvation army that will help you find missing family members free of charge.
Check out your local charity organisations..They might do this for you free.
