my husband and i are going to be driving from flagstaff arizona to raleigh north carolina and using the I40 the whole way... we are going to be traveling with our 2 year old dachshund... i know we are going to need to stay a couplenights at a hotel... does anyone know which hotels take pets? please... any info is much appreciated

Motel 6 is pet-friendly. La Quinta usually is, too.
Pettravel.com has a very good search function, if you can plan the probable overnights you will be making.

Try hotels.com, Triple A (AAA) often has info on motels and hotels. Most, but not all, hotels/motels will allow pets for an extra fee.

There are many hotels/motesl that will allow small pets. Best thing is to use Hotels.com and add that to the prerequesites.
