I look for the facts, forever and always, and check every assertion that comes my way against known data to see if any such data is refuted. Only by constant testing can one have reasonable assurance that one's opinions as to what the facts are may be correct. I am a scientist, and that is what scientists do.

My opinion or anyone else's means nothing unless it's backed up with the Word of God! Opinions and theories are man made. Facts = truth. The only way to discern the difference is to discern anything with the Word of God which is Truth. Otherwise, you live a life of confusion, maybe's, and the seeds of doubt can eventually kill your faith. Use the guidebook The Lord inspired select men to write for us to live by and you will always know what to do and how to live!

I don't think you can separate the two. In order to form an opinion you need to be provided with facts. Formulating an opinion without facts is essentially creating a story with no basis in the real world. The facts are important, but the freedom to create and express an opinion are more important to me. The facts will always be there, but some people in the world are not free to let their opinions be known.

It depends on the subject. The facts are typically the most important thing when making decisions, but I of course formulate my opinions around the facts presented to me, so I don't think they are completely separate. There are some things where opinion doesn't matter, like science; there are some things where facts don't matter, like what type of snack I think is tastiest.
It's easy to discern the difference, I think--"facts" are typically verifiable, whereas my opinion doesn't necessarily have to have any rational basis (I like pretzels because I just do!).

Facts are always more useful than opinions. Opinions are mostly worthless in terms of any real truth. Facts and truth do not change. Opinions change with every new breeze.
You discern the difference by study. Not of blogs, or newspaper articles, but the work of scholars and historians. You challenge yourself by reading opposing opinions with an open mind. You read, read, read.

Whatever changes is an artifact of the eternal principle from which it comes. For instance all states of matter are derived from their potential of all their states which in the quantum reality. The quantum state is the thing itself, the specific probability is its apparency in the circumstantial. Therefore anything which is said to be one, but is even potentially another is not the thing, but only its manifestation in time and space.
Attachment to these things will either persist the limited appearance, or cause the person attached to their ideas to be greatly afflicted when the circumstance changes, and so too does the appearance. This is what said in religion not to be of this world. Do not become affectionate to the temporal because it will only cause limitation and suffering. Things must appear as appropriate to the circumstances as this is the only way they have a parity of reality, otherwise they can't appear together, and are unknown -"I never knew thee".
God bless.

Facts are true. Opinions are just thoughts. Some opinions are based on facts and truth or reality. These opinions are wise opinions. Some opinions are not based on facts, truth and reality. If the opinions are true, and based on facts they conform to what is real, they are wise and safe. If the opinions are not true and not based on facts they will not conform to reality, they are false and dangerous to listen to or to follow. We can discern the difference by studying reality and truth. We study history and what people have actually seen. We study what credible people have said. We study if what people have done and said make sense and are based on truth and reality. If our minds are always in tune with the truth, they will be free from error. This is why we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Magisterium of the Church. Otherwise, we will be in error. Satan loves to deceive. He is the father of lies. We need Holy Mother the Church to tell us what is true and what is false. This is the job given to her by God. God said, "You are Peter and upon this rock I shall build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." God or Jesus gave Peter and the apostles the power to know and decide what is true and what is false. He guides them with the Holy Spirit. We discern the difference by having spiritual directors or holy people attuned to the voice of God to help us with our difficulties. We have priests and nuns and teachers and counselors to help us. We feed our minds with the truth and with the Word of God. If we have this habit, our opinions will conform to the truth. We will gain the wisdom which comes from God. God will teach us the way to knowledge, understanding, counsel, etc. We discern the difference with the help of God and with a strong devotion to truth and love.

What is more important to me is GOD'S TRUTH which transcends my opinion or facts. I discern God's Truth by what is written in the Word of God, and the evidence of the Holy Spirit within me confirming God's will in every situation of life.

Facts are the actual information and opinions are biased information from other people. My opinion is important to me but, facts are facts, I can't change those as i can my own opinion.

nicely definite, a concept or opinion isn't "actuality". Our imaginations can create super fiction. many times some say "fiction" is a extra perfect reality too, lol. Or fiction can prepare truths approximately ourselves which you will possibly no longer understand otherwise. that's why people who're extremely clever many times study fiction, even technology fiction. yet, the definition of a faith, what makes it faith, is that that's geared up on a "tale" a pair of extra effective reality, than our earthly life. maximum religions have a "heaven" and that's no longer in the "here and now", yet another place, exterior our life, and we ought to attend until eventually our physique dies to adventure it. So, many faiths are geared up upon the thought of "death" and the thank you to realize an immortality, after death. no longer something incorrect with this, basically that that's no longer provable, it must be primary by utilising faith on my own. what's extra substantial, many times, isn't the religion chosen, yet how ones character is replaced by utilising that concept, and how ones capability of character gained by utilising that faith in prepare enables others. This perhaps is why maximum religions have a "Golden Rule", to place others beforehand of our self, and to serve God, by utilising assisting others with love or charity. Make experience?
