Yes you can do this if you follow these steps exactly:

1) Insert columns for your delimiters. Type in your semicolon for delimiters between values.
2) Add a last column for pipe character signifying row end
3) Select entire sheet, change font to COURIER NEW 8 Points. (Trust me its important.)
4) While entire sheet is still selected, check format cells ALIGNMENT tab, ensure all TEXT CONTROL choices are unchecked.
5) While entire sheet is still selected, Click Format, Choose Column, choose AUTOFIT Selection.
6) Save file in .xls format (Your backup)
7) Save file in "Formatted Text (Space Delimited)" format.
8) Open file using Notepade or Wordpad to check your work.
9) Enjoy!

Hope this helps!

I believe that Excel only allows the user to save as either Tab delimited, space delimited or Comma delimited files. Coming into excel from a text flie allows you to select more delimiter options. Hope this helps.

You can insert columns in between and put these 'delimiters' there

Save as text and see if the results is what you want.
