how do you ask a guy out?

i am not much of a "party person" so rule out the club scene for me--- so where do you go to meet a nice guy that isn't a bar-fly and how do you ask him out?

You can laugh at me all you want, but lavalife.com worked for me and tonnes of other, totally normal, people that I know. It's a good way to get introduced, then just meet up with that person (always in a public place) soon after your first introduction, if you're interested. If you end up as a couple, you 2 can make up a better story of how you met to tell friends and family, hahaha.
Lavalife does have its fair share of "losers", but so does every bar, gym, school, workplace, church, and anyplace else you could meet a guy! Just be careful, be selective, and have fun. There are a lot of cool, totally socially-adjusted and successful people on lavalife just because they're sick of the bar scene and they know online is a really efficient way of meeting people.
Just calm down and be yourself--most progressive guys would really dig it if the girl asked them out instead. It helps to know what you want, and how to get it! Have fun!!!

a book store, a cafe, the mall, some kind of art classes, an AA meeting (if you're looking for a guy isn't a bar-fly this would be a good place to look)

Anywhere, the bus, the train, a store. If you see someone who looks remotely interesting, give him the eye. If you're getting looks back from guys step up and say hey. Or if your flirting while passing look back and say come here. Never worry about what you're gonna say just say something, anything. It's better than nothing.
I use to see this guy everyday on the train. never said a word to him, finally when i got the courage he disappeared. I decided from then on to never let an opportunity pass me by.
And the worst thing I ever said to a guy who kept looking at me was, " are you gonna give me your number or what?" He ended up being my first love.

Just walk up and ask, don't be afraid of rejection, he's probably more afraid of you then you are of him
