and he plans on torturing everyone who made the wrong choice forever and ever.
Would you, on principle, oppose such a being?

Gary - sorry, your name-calling doesn't change any facts. Please, try to keep it above such responses, if possible.

Just a newbie- you're right...it's probably senseless to oppose such a tyrant, but I would.
The really sad part is that you and Gary there wouldn't. I think that says a lot.

Kate - I agree with you... I don't see where you've done wrong either. Many christians on here would disagree however. But, that is another topic.

yes, why should i give in to such a tyrant.... i would fight him forever... he would have to destroy me completely.
there are some things you must fight for...
O yeah and by the way.... Jealousy implies competition... if god said he is a jealous god then it means he got some thinking to do about how to get supporters, threatening them just makes him another tyrant in my eyes... Hitler was just the same as your so called GOD... and look what happened to him.
For every man that want control, someone just wants to be free

1. Allah (SWT) 'God' is only 'One', has no partner or son, and neither gives birth, nor is He born. He is eternally besought by all and has no beginning or end, and none is equal to Him (Holy Quran example)
2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the Knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ' the Powerful. (Holy Quran example).
3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the Unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. (Holy Quran example). The question of Allah's (SWT) 'God' existence has preoccupied men's minds for many centuries. Those who believe in Allah (SWT) 'God' seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless of Allah (SWT) 'God'. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind.
Those who deny Allah's (SWT) 'God' claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah (SWT) 'God'. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.

If that God is real then the rest of the bible is probably truthful too. We would all become believers and be truly sorry for the sins we've committed. You would be able to seek forgiveness and be accepted into God's family. I think all people should try to live pure lives regardless. The world would be a much nicer place if everyone followed the values and stories set forth in the bible.

Yes, for as long as humanly possible. Seeing how this being would be omniscient and so forth, such a struggle would be worthless. But at least I would hold onto my moral values, which are superior to the stupors of an angry god.

He IS real. He has many attributes, jealous and angry and loving and merciful. His anger is righteous anger, which is much different than human anger. Also, one thing to understand is that He hurts when we hurt, so He doesn't plan to torture us He just lets us make our own decisions and that leads to where we are in our afterlife. Oppose Him all you want to, but if you're wrong and He exists, and you make the wrong choice...where will you be forever and ever?

Your question is inherently dishonest, assuming first that there is a right/wrong choice to be made, and secondly that the reaction to this being must be one of support/opposition. False alternatives don't suit questions like this.
To answer it nonetheless: I live my life in accordance with morals that are in all religions through the ages. If the only thing that separates me from the "right" choice is that I, like Thomas, choose not to believe until I see evidence, then I fail to see where I have done wrong.

hon, your understanding of God is flawed if all you see is a "jealous, angry God" - and your "principle of opposing such a being" is going to land you in hell for eternity. I suggest you get to know Him and you will find that God is "jealous" over His people for their good and protection and that his "anger" burns hot against sin that destroys His people's lives. God paid the price for your redemption in His own blood - why don't you accept that payment for your sins and come to Him for salvation? All you have to loose is HELL.

As laughable and pointless as it would be, yes. Of course, we could all try to be perfect as Jesus was perfect and then insist that heaven wasn't heaven if everyone wasn't there. That's a very good plan and kind of a dirty trick. But I'm not above it. Learn from the best, I always say.

you haven't any longer had any young little ones which you had to boost, hence you don;t be attentive to something approximately correction. undergo in strategies that God is attempting to maintain each and every present and destiny technology from them selves and others. No, he is just in his judgement. That is like asking me if a drunk driver hit and killed someone, would I oppose his being put in jail. God is jealous...he admits it....God does get angry....he admits it...but he always gives us a chance to obey the law just as people in our world are given the chance to obey or not.
