You could list some really high priced ones but I'm looking for ones that are great and easy to use for films and projects for a very, very, very small buget of a student.

I would highly recommend Vegas Movie Studio. $99 but I've seen a lot of rebate offers that can get it down to $50 or less.

It is extremely intuitive to use and the user interface is very well designed.

Once you master this, you can move up to their more professional version Vegas Video which has all the features a real post-production house would use.

Here are just a few samples of things I've made with it. These are just a few things I have on the web but I've done commercial work with Vegas Video and unfortunately, I can't show those because of copyright.
