I have been told by many women that I deserve someone better than them. They debase themselves so much that they put me up on a pedestal. They say this before they break up with me but they still want to be friends. I don't understand this. Is this just a nice way of saying piss off? If someone can please explain this to me that would be great.

They say this because they are trying to find away to break up with you that will not hurt you as much as them saying flat out that the relationship is over. They believe that saying that you are more deserving will hurt you less because then, it's a way to sort of bring up your momentum of finding someone else. Other phrases people use could be "It's not you, it's me." or "There's someone else out there that deserves you." I know it kinda sucks to hear it, but we gotta live with it. Good luck!
