I live across the street from an apartment building and i have this character that chooses to park in front of my house instead of using his designated parking space, i asume its less of a walk for him. i've asked him a few times yet he still percists on taking my parking spaces. We have 3 cars and one is always forced to park way down the street because of this clown!!! the Cops tell me there is nothing i can do because technicaly it is public parking. My question is this: will we get ticketed or towed if we block this guy in (with an inch to spare front and rear) to teach him a lesson? and if it is "illeagal" then please give me some other ideas to modivate this guy to park in his buildings huge paved parking lot............
thanks.

Well, you have to consider this...if you block him in, it'll only tick him off and he'll more than likely hit your car to get out. (FYI: I had my car hit on the street and pretty much knew who did it- they had my color paint on their bumper, but the stupid cops said they can't look at that evidence, b/c they didn't see him hit me) Or, he could have you towed to get his car out. I would maybe try to contact the apart. manager and tell them about it, see if they'll talk to him. But at the same time, it is public parking and you have 3 cars. There are other people who may need to park there. Do you have off street parking or anything? Or maybe you could (if applicable) park two of your cars far enough apart so that he can't fit there, then when the 3rd car comes home, move your cars so that it can fit there.

Tough luck. Public parking is first come first serve. He has as much right to park there as you do. If you don't like the parking situation either sell one of those three cars or move into one of the apartments across the street, they have plenty of parking. Even if your street had designated parking you wouldn't get three spots.

The thing is that you need to park legally and stay within the lines. The problem is that if you do something to them, they may do it back to you. This person could be a psycho and do something crazy. I know you really want to do something but try not to and be the better person believe me they will get theirs eventually. He does sound like a real jerk. Good luck:)

Nothing you can do. I have experienced the same problem, and all you can do is hope he moves soon. If you start a war with this idiot, remember, he knows where you live, and he can make your life miserable, even after he moves away.

A strategically placed water sprinkler can sometimes help eliminate the problem.

It's illegal if you park next to them to block them in. If you just park really close to them in front and behind, they're outta luck. There is no law that says how close you can park to someone, as long as it's only in front or behind. Parking next to him would be double parking, and that's illegal.

Why get stressed out.....let him have the space and enjoy the exercise of a short walk to your home.

Or, sell one of your cars and then there's an available space for the nice fella to take.

Upsetting me....oops, i mean him, will only lead to to bad feeling and there's no telling what I'll.....i mean, he'll do to get my revenge!!!!

Also, invite him over for a free BBQ and a case of cold beers: he is particularily fond of aberdeen angus beef steak and stella artois beer.........erm, probably.....

i think the sprinkler is the best idea.

wait till he leaves a window down and then spray away.

or write down his plate # and call the police and report the car stolen.
