Absolutely true in the material sense only. I've known many people from poor to rich. My experience has been that the ones with the most material wealth were the poorest in terms of happiness. On the other hand, I've known many poor people in the material sense who were extremely happy with an insatiable zest for life.

I agree as a man, to a certain extent. But we can want a certain woman all we want but if we are rejected enough we will back down eventually and move on. And the latter part of your statement is definetely true.

part 1 is false...things that could keep him away: restraining order, jail time, a well-aimed gun...
part 2 is true to a point, however some things that could make him stay, a sense of loyalty, the children, threat of losing material things...in other words, he might physically stay, but not in his heart...
