There is no evidence, of any sort whatever, to suppose the existence of any sort of god. Someone truly said: mankind created god in its own image. Your idea of explaining away lack of knowledge is valid. For much more on this, see:

You're exactly right, Eduardo. There's no god, or gods; no "after"-life; no heaven or hell. It's all in people's minds -- they are too afraid to believe that THIS WORLD is all that we have ... and when you search and try to believe but it just doesn't work, YOU get the blame for "not having strong-enough faith." B.S!

People are born, they live, they die, they rot in the ground ... and that's it. Life goes on for the rest.

I learned in a biological anthropology class in college that in any given culture or population, that the more educated people are, the less likely they are to believe in a god; the less educated people are, the more likely they are to believe.

I like to break it down to this: God exists or God doesn't exist. People have documented the existance of God and how they experience him since the beginning of civilization. It seems that all cultures have had an experience with him and each religion is their attempt to give him (her or it) some sort of identity. Just like the animals when we were of simpiler minds without thoughts of atoms and protein synthesis, we only had cognitive processes about what we personally experienced through the senses. I believe that God introduced himself in some form to our early ancestors and in many ways he still does introduce himself in the lives of many people. We have aquired so much more knowledge and it's hard sometimes to even grasp the idea of God when the big bang and the other theories make so much more scientific sense. To me, God does make sense and he is very real.

human beings are certainly capable of creating their own gods and devils. And generally, they explain the unknown. This doesn't inherently prove the current Gods wrong, but it stands to reason that they aren't completely accurate. And whether he exists or not, you ARE the owner of your life.

God exist, regardless of anyone believing or not. It doesn't explain all the wrong in the world or all the right in the world. but none the less God exist. You and everyone in this world will find out sooner than later that God has been here from the beginning.

I believe whole-heartedly that God does exist. There is so much evidence out there to prove it.
Also, I do not understand how people can explain all the beauty and splendor of the universe as mere coincidence. How could everything be the way it is (from the perfect texture of the soil to the brilliance of the stars) and all come together nurture one another (the soil and sunlight and rain coming together to nourish the seeds and bring full plants to life; animals and humans growing the way they do; the constant learning capabilities; the ability we have to reproduce; the way everything works together; the complex structure of everything from the earth itself to the life in it to the universe) and it all just be a coincidence -- just suddenly happen one day? Also, how conceited is it for us to think that we are the only ones who are capable of creating? How can we see the way we're able to build anything and everything, create masterpieces from almost nothing, grow magnificent gardens, teach others, do almost anything we can think of, even bring others back to life or otherwise save lives through medical practices....and not see the possibility that perhaps this great, perfectly designed universe around us could be the creation of someone else. I see the universe as the Masterpiece of the greatest Artist of all. In my opinion, there is no logical way that everything could just suddenly appear out of nowhere for absolutely no reason and be as perfectly designed as it is.
I do not by any means follow blindly. I think of myself as a logical thinker. I love to read and learn and explore. I ask questions and search until I find answers. I follow nothing blindly.

People that believe in gods are childish clinging milk sops. People believe in gods because they can't grow up and live their lives as a god would have wanted them to. Without help or begging for it in prayers. To stand on their own as a god would have wanted without all the self-gratifying requests to a god. God only exists to those that are childish and want a daddy to make everything right. T.V. evangelists and born agains are proof of evolution as they are very monkey-like always grabbing for the banana. Look at what christians leaders flaunt and try to get from you. Money and material things not god. Shameless charlatans. Science is very hokey too. Science has some stupid ridiculous claims too so be careful to take up arms with the science community they are flaky and very christian-like in their ways of thinking and acting. They grab for the government money just like t.v. evangelists for ridiculous causes. Humans need to relieve their oversized ego and admit we don't have the answers to the mysteries of life whether we are pro- science or bible thumper.

You are absolutely correct, I used be the same way until reality set me straight, and I have never been happier. I can only believe what I see, hear, feel, and touch, just as other people do.

I believe only God exists and not these made up gods because people are not capable to have explanations for supernaturals and therefore they question what is real. Like the way people have questioned gravity. God existed even before people had this knowledge to try and say he does not exist. But one has to have faith to know that he exists. If you wanna know if God exists, ask him to show himself to you. Believe me i was not a believer and i jokingly asked him to show himself and what i got, nobody can explain.
