Hey girls...just a question...how long did it take your guy to tell you he loved you? How did he do it? Is close to a year too long, or is my guy just scared? (He was in a 6-year, engaged relationship right before he met me). I tell him I love him sometimes...he doesn't get weird or anything, just smiles. But I've never heard it back and it's bugging me!

Girl, just relax and don't put a time clock on this type of thing. I know -- that's easier said than done =)
At first, it took my man (now my fiance) a while to tell me he loved me, but I never forced the issue. If I felt like saying "I love you" to him, then I said it. Yeah, at first when he wasn't saying it back, I was like "What the h#ll??" - but life is too short to avoid telling someone you love them.
Now that I'm "older & wiser" I say put your feelings out there. You owe it to yourself! You may hear it back soon -- and when you do, it will make your heart race. That is a WONDERFUL feeling!
Just relax, and be patient -- I'm sure it's coming soon!

Guys are so different. I dated someone for four years and he told me the week we met and never stopped telling me the whole time we dated.
I think when you say it first the guy feels like he has to say it. I may be guilty of the same thing (saying the l word first) in my current relationship. Saying it comes so naturally when you're with the right person :)
But guys sometimes take awhile to come around and they have to do things on their time.

It took my husband 3 days after we met that he told me loved me. Thats one day after I told him. It was love at first site when I met him, or I should say love at first kiss.. We've been together for 19 months and we've been married almost 10 months. He told me as we were laying down talking, and I had just gotten off of a graveyard shift at work and I was starting to fall asleep on him...lol
I think that after a year, he would know how he feels and if he cant say he loves you by then, then mabe he has mixed feelings or he just not sure what he wants.

I may not be a girl...but I can tell you why he may be doing that to you. Sometimes, us guys get the impression from women that it is best to reserve our feelings to make you guess. So unfortunately, if he is doing that, the only serious way to find out is to ask him seriously

my hisband and i actually planned to tell each other on the same day. I knew after about a week, but we told each other after 2 and a half months....
HUn, its super wierd that he hasnt said it yet, u should ask him about it, after close to a year, u should be com fortable enough to say sumthing about it, if not, your wasting your time...good luck!

took my husband three months and i was the first person he told in his life besides family. Maybe hes feeling it but doesnt want to jinx it by putting it into words

well it took him 3 weeks to say it but we know each other for more than that. he was all happy one day then he just came up to me and hugged and there he said it!
just give him sometime he will say it and i suggest you stop saying it and see how he will start to feel. hope it works out.

my boyfriend started tellin me he loved me about 2 months after we started dating..4 years since we became friends......i guess it depends on the guy and the relationship ...dont stress over it...he will say it when he is ready and when he means it

my guy never say it unless he is really drunk and he always love to talk when he is drunk but when he isn't he will never say it because he think why say it and be soo romantic....when those people wo't last long and will break up with you in less than a year.. well, that's his theory

it took him 3 months and only when i moved over-seas he told me :(
which was quite sad because now we love each other and are thousands of KM away
