and he also happens to be my friend too.....my boyfriend is straight and doesn't know about this....should I just be quiet about it or do something about it?

You can choose to ignore the friend or you can still be friends. Just play it cool. Whenever there is a gathering, make sure you stay by your bf's side and just enjoy everybody's company. Do not mislead your eyes into telling him to come to you and don't stare at him. He may have the false indication that you are interested in him too. So stay cool, let everyone have a good time.
