I am a HighSchooler, who's suffering from a crush. (lo' the day God invented puberty and different chromosomes).
I am not someone who's special in my school. I was one of those who was failed to be mentioned in the movie, Breakfast Club. (not just because I'm Asian) I'm not the smarted... the most atheletic... the happiest.. the funniest... nor am I even the most good looking. (I'd like to meet the comedian who thought adding pimples to human physiology would be great)
But I have fallen a crush to a beautiful girl. She's popular, a prep, gorgeous, and one of those girls who guys like me just wish would even talk to me. I tried talking to her many times but ended short and less than meaningful. (one painful memory of me being totally shadowed by the star football player)
Now on a new semester I don't see her anymore. Being a Junior.. its hard to see a sophmore girl. She doesn't even know my name... and I'd like to talk to her but it's just so awkward now.

Well she's a social girl that doesn't sound like your type at all. Just because she's "beautiful" doesn't make her anything but in need of too much attention. There are plenty of beautiful girls that aren't f*cking cheerleaders. Please don't pursue this because if she hasn't talked to you already of her own free will, she never will. Find a girl who lives on planet earth and not planet POPULAR!!

I said that so many times during my teen years-- I'm with ya.
CONTINUE TO GO UP AND TALK TO HER
I can't emphasize it enough. You have to respect yourself and be confident. The pimples may eventually leave (depending on how you take care of your face)--- I had them to.
But, TRY to ignore the encroaching jocks, preps, jerks, etc. and other potential competition from guys.
BE YOURSELF-- and just make light conversation to start with.
See how long she entertains you with conversation and observe (and try not to misinterpret) her facial expressions and bodily movements towards you.
BTW, what exactly happened that day when you talked to her and the "football player" showed up?? What did you say? Do give details.

When I was in high school I was attracted to various types of guys, the drummers, the hippies, some of the smart guys and a few of the jocks. I went out with whoever asked me out as long as there was attraction. So just bc she is "not your type," don't EVER let that stop you from pursuing a girl that attracts you. People meet and marry out of their "type" all the time. While I liked the drummers/musicians more (rockers) I ended up marrying a "jock." :)
