You have got to find a healthy, low calorie eating plan that works for you, and STICK to it, in addition to regular exercise.
I know - you've heard it before, but honestly, if you want to do anything other than a temporary fix, the only thing that will give you permanent results and make you feel energized & healthy is rethinking your lifestyle and making a commitment to a new you :-).

Good luck - it won't be easy, but it WILL be worth it.

Its a matter of retraining your taste buds to be eating vegetables and fruits instead of junk food. It is difficult and cannot be attained by going on a restrictive diet that doesn't really help you learn new eating habits. I spent months just trying to appreciate the taste of fresh fruits and salads, brocolli and kale. I messed up alot of times and chose junk food instead. Over time, I begin to appreciate them and enjoying whole grain brown rice instead of white bread pasta. Going low fat will not help because your body needs the right fats (non-hydrogenated, rich in Omega 3s) to help you feel full and keeping your moods balanced. You also need to eat protein, as a protein rich diet helps boost your metabolism. I won't lie;It was painfully difficult for me to go from my diet of fried foods, donuts, sugary cereals, white bread and pasta, and the like to one of salads, brown rice, lean meat, green veggies, fruit, raw nuts, and the like.... the results were not always quick and sometimes I did give in and eat a "bad" food, but I always went back to making better food choices. I asked myself when I wanted a snack, "which is going to make me feel better, this bowl of strawberries or a bowl of strawberry ice cream?" Even if I knew the answer, i didn't always make the right choice, but as time went on I made more and more right choices. I went from 250 to 150 in a year and a half. There are those who will advocate pills and surgery; it is a choice only you can make, but as someone who has tried everything, I can tell you that the only thing that really worked for me was a radical change in lifestyle. Now I can honestly say that fruit tastes better than donuts and cookies, although I still splurge occasionally.

You could try SlimFast. I'm in your position exactly, and it's been working for me. Combine it with exercise, and you should be good to go. I wouldn't advise taking pills, because you have no idea if there are any unmentioned side effects that could cause you problems.
