More than 30% US school children over 12 can't find the US on a map. How about instead of more money, we start firing inept teachers. To quote 2 Short "In the state of California, you graduate and can't spell diploma"

I know. It's really sad. And most can't spot the pacific ocean or the capital either. And the people in my class brag that they got a lower F than another person.
The thing is, most teachers are inept, and they have all these stupid rights which come with their job. Also, they don't get paid very much, and nobody really wants to be a teacher.

Of course I do, I live in Nevada where 87% of high school graduates can neither read nor answer employment ads. These figures do reflect the fact that there are more immigrants from California every year and the schools in that state have been the butt of jokes since the 1950's. Add to that the total acceptance of immigrants from Mexico and Asia whom expect our country to act as translators rather than to take responsibility in learning English, the language of their new country. I should talk, however, I have yet to find "Hispania" on the world map despite the fact that Nevada is now about 25% "hispanic." We're not allowed to say a lot of our new people came from Mexico, despite the fact I have spent a couple of years in that country. Fortunately, many of my co-workers neither stutter when they say "Mexican" nor expect me to mispronounce Chapultepec Park or Zocalo when I speak of interesting Mexican locales and we all know I bought my huaraches for pennies on the dollar en un mercado instead of for $100 at Kohl's and have years of tread left.

Nope but I know that 70% of kids have a myspace and can beat the evil wizard on playstation 3.

LOL. yea thats sadly true. When i tell people the country im from. they think its a state or just a city. Also people think that spanish is Mexican. I guess for them ignorance is strength. Either way, most people dont even care.
