it isn't illegal to just take the pictures. if you use them somewhere then you have to get their permission. for example, when our church made a website they made everyone who appeared in any picture sign a release for their photo to be on the website or they were photoshopped out, and that was mainly photos taken on the church's property. something like the car accident you are talking about might actually be helpful for witnesses and stuff but if you were to take it and put it on your myspace or something and by some coincidence someone saw it and got pissed they were in the photo i think they are able to sue at least to make you take the pic off, if not worse.

Of course it's not illegal, unless you do it properly without upsetting anybody, and for your cause it's OK, at least you have evidence to prove the accident.

I would say that this is okay. What's not okay is if you publish these picture through some kind of media, like the Internet, without their consent or permission. Under most laws and conditions, this could result in a major law suit against you. Just imagine what would happen to you if you took a picture of a famous movie star or rock star and published it on the Internet without their permission.

I don't think you can use it for profit without their agreement but it is not illegal to click. However, if someone took exception, I think you would have to bear with their wishes and under the circumstances you describe, they would pixelate the image if it was published unless you got a waiver.

It depends what you do with them.
Whilst not illegal in itself a persons image much like a voice is protected from reproduction without permission.

No, I don't think it'd be illegal if it was a car accident or something.

I don't think so. But if you want to post it in a news article, or an add of some sort. I think you do have to get their permission.

It is not because there is no "Expectation Of Privacy". If you use it to make money or as part of an advertizing campaighn then yes you need their consent.

nope, not illegal as far as I know.

But nif you upset someone by doing this I am sure they could manipulate the law into getting you done for it.
