Matthew 7:1- Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Do ya'll read on to verse 2?
Matthew 7:2-For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
This doesnt mean not to judge people at all;but it's congruent with the teaching of faith without works.
James 2:18-Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
In matthew 7,when you read on to verse 2&beyond,you come to understand that it's saying not to judge people for doing or not doing something unless you yourself are willing to be held to that same standard.Like a preacher who teaches one thing, but in his own pratice does exactly the oppisite;if I'm not mistakin, those type people are called pharasies;not willing to do what they teach. So do people actually read&understand the words after "judge not"?Or do you just stop there¬ read on,in order to justify your position?

well yes you should read on and understand the rest but then all the bible is full of teachings in every book. it basically says that dont judge ppl unless you are willing to take responsibility for that judgement upon yourself to answer for. the next verses basically says that faith and works go hand in hand. you have no one to answer to besides god, so dont worry bout other ppl walk with god or lack thereof . only worry about yours. god will deal with his children and their mistakes in his time not yours. if you look for sin in the body of christ you most likely will find it. " all have sin and fall short of the glory of god ". i wont try and justify my sins because their is no justification. i wont blame anyone but the devil and my own sinful flesh for if you are true to yourself that is what you'll realize. i hope this helps you.

Why do you promptly anticipate that each one professional-life everybody is Christians? Do you imagine that Christians are the in person-friendly words ones who fee life? even if, to prevent from having to click on ModernDayPurist's link, i provides you you with the fast version right here. the placement is one in all translation. The verse could more advantageous precise examine: Exodus 21:22 even as those who're struggling with injure a pregnant woman so as that there is a premature start, and yet no further damage follows, the single to blame will be fined what the lady's husband demands, paying as a lot because the judges verify. 23 If any damage follows, then you definitely shall provide life for life, 24 eye for eye, teeth for teeth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe. So, if the lady is going into early exertions, and mom and new child are both ok, the single to blame will pay a very good. That looks straightforward sufficient. The choose determines how a lot the effective will be, probable depending on the care mom and infant will favor. yet when both mom or infant take any damage from the adventure, the single to blame will pay in type. He needs to wish fairly hard that infant survives, because if s/he could die... thanks, ModernDayPuritan, for providing that link. It clears all of it up so precise...

We can judge the righteous behavior in others, but before we do that .. we better know without a shadow of doubt that we have NO sin on us.
We all fall short of the glory of God.
These denominations that "excommunicate" others for the sin they commit... have NO right in doing so. Every Christian as well as non believers sin daily ... sin that they don't even realize is sin.
Love the sinner but not the sin. That's the example we are given in the Bible. God loves us and only sees us through His eyes looking through His Son, if we have come to the relationship with Jesus. Outside that relationship... those that have rejected Jesus... God doesn't see at all.
God's eyes are too pure to look upon sin. That's the reason He turned His back the second His Son took upon Himself the sins of all mankind.
But, Jesus is now at the right hand of the Father in His kingdom.

That verse refers only to judging someone Else's walk with God. If you judge theirs you run the risk of having yours judged the same way.
We make judgments all the time and are told to: try the spirits, etc. We have every right and obligation to judge between right and wrong.
These people that use this verse wrong are fence sitters and don't want to offend because someone might not like them any more.

I read the whole chapter. First it tells you that in the way you judge others, you shall in turn be judged the same way - sort of like a warning to be a fair and merciful judge.
Then it talks about judging the sins of others, when you yourself have even bigger sins. It says first take care of your own sins, then perhaps you can see clearer how to help your brother remove his sins.
Next it talks about people who are judged as "dogs" and "pigs." It says be careful not to spend your time preaching to these people. They will take your words, trample upon them, and then turn to attack you.
A lot of lesson about judging in Matthew 7.

Yes, many use the passage to justify "do your own thing" which includes sexual imbalance and greed, but not so far as murder and rape.
you are saying that when you judge you will get teh same judgment back. It's a good mirror. The law of karma.
But I don't see haw that relates to faith and works.

If you read the NT carefully you may notice that the writer of James was *against* the teaching of the writer of Paul, and that the writer of Paul was *against* the teaching of the writer of James. It’s works against faith and the writers attack the others doctrines. The writers were divided, and not only on that point. Hence all the contradictions and 10,000 Christian denominations.

Well then one might say so is God, he tells us not to do that but he judges us doesn't he? Its hard to say one thing and do another now isn't it? Guess we truly were made in his image. Then we should all fail cause there isnt any other way. THere is no way to not.

I don't judge people period. Let those without sin cast the first stone.....It's not our place to judge since we are all sinners. The only one who can judge is God himself.
