did you go for a dual booting
if boot menu shows xp and vista is loaded in other then the Xp pertition ( c:\ in most cases ) then go for fixboot command from recovery console of Xp.
if you tried dual booting ( installing in a different drive then Xp ) but vista was installed in the same drive as Xp ( now booting not possible ) somehow then let me know I will tell you next.
If you just upgraded from Xp then I think microsoft has not given option for downgrade this time. only option is reinstallation of Xp. get confirmation though

If you go into "my computer" from the "start" button, under system task theres an option thats says 'add/remove programs' click on that and all the programs you have in the computer will come up. Just click on the one you want to remove, follow the directions from there. Good luck!

Yeah, Vista bites.. You'll have to use your previous OS disks and re-install that OS after reformatting your drive.. :(

you can't uninstall an upgrade...
you can save all your data and reinstall your old OS and move your data back in after you reinstall the old OS.
