No, this is not true. Whether the Catholic Church believes it or not they are not above the law. Look at how many kids have been molested because of priests. The priests are now going to jail for it after a few brave men started to back kids that said the priests did it to them.

The Churches should be held accountable for aiding and abetting a felon, if they help illegal aliens.

Yes, the Catholic Church has many powers. For example, Catholic Presidents who are elected in the United States normaly go to the Pope and ask for adviseries. In some theory, there has been cases that even Persident Bush fallows these traditon. He did concent with the Pope before the Iraq war. Shortly after Itay Sent troops to Iraq alongsided with US and ended up the 3rd major troop level in Iraq. And some politicans do concent with the Pope before releasing major laws/bills.
