I see, no difference between a pencil and a nuclear bomb. That's new for me.

The fact that the nukes are "inhuman" is the whole point. Make war such a horror that it becomes unthinkable.

ALL weapons can be inhuman, since they are design to kill!

So a nuke is no more inmoral than a knife if you think of it, problem is why it was used! Defense or offense, to stop a bad guy or to kill the innocent, for the greater good or to conquer?

And sometimes a nuke can be more merciful than a knife, since in a nuke flash the target is gone in a flash where with a knife.....well, just look at the beheading videos of Alqaeda!

It is that simple!

That is an easy one to answer. Nuclear weapons are generally in the hands of government. Legal is what they deem as legal.

I'll ignore the syntax and simply ask you the following query.

What weapons do you consider humane? Machine guns, pistols, flame throwers, knives, high explosive bombs, IEDs or assault rifles?

By the way...not to put too fine a point on the obvious but I don't recall ever learning that nuclear weapons were illegal. So by definition they are.....legal.

"'Summum jus, summa injuria!"says the Latin proverb. It means the greatest legal justice is the greatest moral injustice!
The invention of the lethal weapon of such magnitude, itself is immoral, illegal and unwarranted. Its use against an ethnic group is highly deplorable. What justification US could find in
using it twice within three days, on civilian cities,to save its own people !!

All weapons are extremely human. They're like all our other tools. We make them. We use them. Some of us use them wisely. So of us don't.

I would give a box of matches to my neighbor so he could start his barbaque. I would not give a box of matches to a pyromaniac so he could burn down my house.

They cannot be banned because many countries around the world would not comply which would upset the balance of "power". Strange, dangerous world.
