You might very well be my twin. Our similarities are uncanny. Anyway, this is my answer. Alcoholics go to meetings, drunks don't. I am a drunk and damn proud of it......(I'm actually kind of drunk right now). The main questions to ask yourself are...does it affect your work? Does it affect your family life? Do you wake up in the morning needing a drink? Do you get the shakes or tremors if you don't drink? Gotta be honest, 12 a day isn't healthy. (I know, the pot calling the kettle black). 10 beers a day for 10 years is enough to cause liver failure (and then you are f |_| c |< ed. )

Same difference. Your both, plus you can't spell!
Alcoholic I believe is correct.
Try this test, don't drink for 5 days. If you can't do without a drink or get the DT's, then you are a genuine alcoholic!
Sounds like you have a wonderful, fulfilling life. Just wait till your liver gives out, your skin turns yellow, you have busted corpuscles on your face, your eyes look like someone peed in the snow, and your brain has the intelligence of a vegetable.
Yep, some life.
Want to know what makes you drunk? I'll tell you. Alcohol makes your red blood cells stick together. The tiny corpuscles throughout your body, eyes and brain are loaded with thousands of these. They are so small that only one blood cell can pass through at a time. Well, here comes the blob of stuck together blood cells. Plugs up the corpuscle and cuts off the oxygen supply. That's where you get the buzz from. So your brain is being deprived of oxygen, and dies! That's the same reason you loose vision while drinking. That's why you body gets a numbness to it!
Great huh?
Hey, want to save money? Just tie a concrete block around your feet and jump in the water. It's the same feeling, plus just think of all the money you are saving us tax payers for not having to keep you alive in a nursing home for the rest of your brainless life!

Not quite an alcoholic -- yet. But you are well on your way. Your liver is also decomposing at a rapid rate with so much intake. You are an alcoholic when you begin drinking uncontrollably at all hours of the day.

If it's not affecting your life, then you're not an alcoholic. If you drink so much that you lose control, then you're a drunk.

I don't know, only you would know if you are truly honest with yourself. But it is healthy to question this.
