you have to go to basic and be issued the same uniform as everybody else. after the first week you cantell the drill sargents youd like to file a ddg69 official request for frilly uniform change. they wont be free like the first set. you will pay dearly for them.

Actually our military clothing is pretty logical if you know the reason for the designs.

Our uniforms are made with material that will not refract light so our soldiers don't end up being big glow-in-the-dark targets when looked at with night vision goggles.

They are also treated with a mild flame retardant for obvious reasons.

As far as the "Frilly number" goes, that's not actually a uniform. The name of it is a Gilly suit. its nothing but rope and burlap that is worn over the uniform. Since its worn over the uniform, its nothing but an extra layer of cloth to make you even hotter.

"...your army..." Foreigner? You might have to be a citizen to join any military (you didn't refer who's army).
But I'll think you meant the U.S.
The U.S. army has the best uniform (what kind though? Dress or combat?) for combat. The new digitized pattern is great camouflage and is extremely efficient.
To take your question directly, no, no frills. This is the Army! Commonsense.

When it comes to comfort, style and practicality, our military is 200 years behind the times. They are clearly uncomfortable and hard to maintain. Save your fashion sense for the civilian clothes because the military threads are hopeless! Even hunting clothes are better designed and efficient.
