RE:
What medicine or good remedy is there for a skin irritation that looks like a fungal issue.?
I just noticed it a few days ago. There are dark spots under my right army pit that look kind of dry. I'm thinking I should go and grab some Blue star oinment, but if anyone knows of something else, please tell me. Thanks!

from wht I've seen on the web color of skin fungus re,orange yellow but sa no black-always though black meant dead skin-blood supply cut off so it dies-black(also happens whe freezes) I'd go see a Dermatologist to ascertain exactly what it is. But for Fungus a very effective home remedy is Braggs Brown Unprocessed Vinegar(get any health food store)Vinegar is known to destroy bacteria, fungus and used since before the time of the Romans. Can put on spots full strength but if very sensitive skin can dilute with a little bit of water. NEEM-also gotten at health food store is also a effective anti-fungal treatment-Neem Oil is the best for also comes in a cream. Neem Oil comes from India and has other beneficial uses-also good against acne-bacteria.

Hair Loss in dogs can be caused by any of the following: Demodex, Scabies, Lice, Fleas, Flea Allergy Dermatitis, Bacterial Infection, Yeast Infections, Airborne Allergic Reaction, Food Allergic Reaction, Cheyletiella, Cushing's Disease, etc etc... Heartworms in dogs need to be treated with Ivermectin for several months and then injections of a potent medication for the adults. Heartworm is typically diagnosed with a blood test and radiographs of the chest. Both the killing of the microfilariae (babies) and adult worms can be very dangerous to your dog's health and must be supervised by a veterinarian (especially the adulticide treatments). Some infections that are really bad require surgical removal of some of the adult worms. I assume you've gone to your vet and know all of this already.... Coughing is usually caused by the worms clogging up the arteries in the heart and around the lungs, essentially choking the dog to death. If the cough is getting worse, you need to let your vet know as soon as possible. Coughing can also be caused by something as simple as a kennel cough infection OR by heart disease, a fungal infection or even allergies. Chewing behavior: It could be that she is stressed, bored, or so itchy that she is taking out her frustrations on objects. Given the wide variety of possible causes for your dog's health concerns and the fact that you have not gone to veterinary school for 7+ years, I would strongly advise being a responsible pet owner and taking your dog to the vet for the treatment she needs. They can, at the very least, provide her with some relief for the itching....if nothing else.

Please, go to your doctor. If you can't afford one, ask a pharmacist. They sometimes know more than doctors do. They have to know about every prescription out there. Andrew
