A lot of the people on here gave you terrible (over complicated answers). You would have more waves and curls if your hair was natural, but if it isn't...you can still achieve similar results. 1) Wash your hair and condition it. 2) Part your hair into 4-6 plaits. 3) Comb each section of hair out. 4) Apply a good distribution of either coconut oil, olive oil, or vegetable cooking oil (get it from the grocery store) to each section of hair. It's important that you use all natural oils on your hair, they are healthier for your hair than store bought hair greases are and can promote hair growth. 5) If you can find it, try to go to Wal-Mart and find aloe vera juice or aloe vera gel (this is healthy for your hair and can keep it moisturized for a LONG time). 6) Braid all 5-6 sections of hair into small braids, individually. 7) Put a hair scarf over your head, and in the morning you should have long lasting conditioned waves and curls (crinkles). If you have any more questions, feel free to email me. Good Luck!

You can buy the Crinklier from target. That is what I did. I also braid my hair at night and take it out in the morning. The crinklier makes much neater crinkles than braiding but it is more time consuming.

if you don't want to buy anything, put your hair in braids when it is wet and then take the braids out when you hair is dry.
