I am in college and live very far away from my family. About 3 months ago, I got a bad news from my mother, that she is diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have not seen my mother in a while and in a fews day im heading home for spring break. However everytime i think about facing my mother, i feel repelled and I dont want to meet her. I feel like staying in college because I dont want to meet her. Why am I so scared to meet my own mother?

Your fear may feel overwhelming right now - fear of loss, fear of facing reality, fear of death... but you've got to grow up a bit and realise that this is the time your mother needs you - she needs to feel a connection with her daughter, that her children gave her purpose in life and you appreciate her. You can help by being there, loving her unconditionally, supporting her in HER fears and decisions. BE THERE. You don't have to be an expert or act as a medical professional, you are just her daughter who is mourning and scared and doesn't know what to do. But at least you will be with her. If the worst happens, you will kick yourself later for staying away, believe me!

It is probably just the guilt of not being there for her when she was diagnosed. Believe me, she needs you right now so dont be scared for her sake!!
