I would adopt from a shelter. If you get a kitten from a stranger you don't know their medical background or temperament.
Shelter kitties are vet checked, desexed and fully vaccinated, so you don't have to worry about those costs. They are usually temperament tested too.
If you get a free kitten you will spend more than the shelter adoption fee on getting him desexed, vaccinated etc.
It might seem like a good deal getting a free kitten but it's really not.

I recommend spending the money to adopt a kitten from a local shelter, instead of taking a free kitten from a stranger.
Shelter kittens are usually spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on all their shots.
If there are any health problems, they will be plainly stated to you.

I agree. A free kitten is not free. You have to get its operation, its shots, its immunizations and its tests. I too suggest getting your animal from a shelter or rescue agency. That way, you will know what you are getting, also it will have the operation, shots, immunizations and tests done.

i think you should go to an animal shelter.. they have healthy kittens and i believe most of them give the kitten shots before they sell them. I got a kitten from the SPCA and its very healthy.

Yes , I agree with those above me... the sheltter... there are lots of kittys there that need a home.. i've been there and there are very lovely kitties...
My cat is about to have babies.. I would give you one if I were around there.. but i'm all the way in Cali...
She's an Angora white.. yellow eye cat...
