she is 2 mos. old and is very small. she is a chihuahua/ jack Russell terrier mix. I'm wondering if there is anything wrong? or if she is just panting because she is hot?

Your dog is probably just fine. As some have said before dogs don't have normal sweat glands like humans do. The only way for them to release heat is through their paws and through their mouth by panting. Just because they pant doesn't mean they are thirsty all the time. However if you are really concerned your best bet would be to take her to the Vet and get her checked out.

If your dog is just hot, it will drink some water when it's thirsty . Watch it close to make sure. If it doesn't drink all day then something is wrong. My sister's dog did that and he had parvovirus. The vet said all they could do was give him IV fluids to try to save him. Luckily he made it.

Dogs do not have sweat glands, panting is used as a way for them to cool themselves down. That would be the only reason I could think of.

Mine does too! I've been giving her ice cubes which she loves and at least I know she's getting some fluid. I find that she'll drink the water from my cats water "cup" instead of her water bowl? I'll look forward to the answers you get! Good luck.

he's maximum probable quite under pressure or frightened approximately something, or in discomfort. you could attempt to verify what could be incorrect your self, and if that would not artwork, i'd take him to the vet. they are in a position to help no longer purely with the discomfort(a minimum of i'm hoping they are in a position to thinking its their activity), yet they are in a position to grant you different strategies for the thank you to calm him down. i'm hoping this helps and is not any longer purely mentioning the obtrusive. desire your canines feels extra appropriate quickly too. :)

If she is not drinking water there is most likely something wrong. Take her to a vet as soon as possible.
