If you will only conduct a little research on the church's history -there really was - a female popess - in the name of Joan (who was named Pope Zacharias after elected). She was said to have impregnated by one of his attendants, and gave birth to a child during a procession from St. Peter's to the Lateran. There, she died immdiately.
For Meg...
If you will try to go back to Matthew 16 and understand the grammar well enough, there is another "person" involved in that particular scene, aside from Jesus and Peter. You can trust me...if you want to know more about this...
GOD BLESS.......

The pope has to be in Holy Orders, and the Catholic Church does not believe she has the authority to ordain women. Jesus had women followers, but He never ordained them as He did men.
For Little Bobby:
The papacy was instituted by Christ Himself (see Matthew 16:17-19 and John 21:15-17), and yes, the office goes on and on. Peter’s very first order of business after Christ’s ascension was to call for Judas’ office to be filled by a successor (Acts 1:15-26).
“For it is written in the book of Psalms, `Let his habitation become desolate, and let there be no one to live in it'; and `His office let another take.'” – Acts 1:20

#1 it is not unbiblical because there is NO pope in the bible. secondly, there is no pope in the bible.
third, JESUS did not tell peter he was a pope. he did not say that this was an office that should go on and on and on. the catholic church invented itself. the original followers of Christ were jews who then called themselves early CHRISTIANS. not catholics. so therefore, the subject of male / female / married / unmarried is a moot point. ALL early church leaders were able to marry. only catholics decided on their own to make new rules. ONLY THE BIBLE HAS THE TRUE ANSWERS.

Jesus may not have called any women to be disciples but Luke 8:3 suggests he had followers who were even rich and important women.
