I want to get my straight hair that has a few waves in it wavy. I'm tired of curling my hair because it takes forever since i have thick hair.

I have straight hair with a few waves and i want to get more waves into it. I tried that whole put your hair in a but while its almost dry. but usually i just end up with one huge bump in the middle of my hair. or my hair gets really frizzy. Is there like any shampoos or sprays that encourage waves ?

Have you tried hot or cold rollers? I've used both and they're great when I want to add curls or waves. With the hot rollers, I would section off my hair and roll them all the way up to my scalp. I'd remove them only after they've completely cooled. This makes a big difference :) Also, I'd use a root boosting foam before putting them in. After taking them out, I'd do a quick mist of shaping hair spray. When using the cool rollers--which is what I use now--I would do basically the same thing, except you don't have to wait for them to cool (obviously, lol) I like to put the cool rollers in while I'm doing my make up, then take them out after I'm done. Depending on what size of roller you are using, you can get either very curly hair, or pretty, loose waves. For waves, obviously your going to want to go with a bigger size.

Good luck!--Hope I helped :)

I have really straight hair, too, but I find that when I don't blow-dry it, there's a tendency for it to get a little wavy.

The best ways to take advantage of this are to either not brush your hair for about two hours or you can comb it while wet, put it up in a bun for a few hours, and take it out. The first way is the easiest, but the second works better.

It might even depend on how long you want it to last for, too. There are curlers you use for softer waves, but there's also an actual permanent solution you buy at the store for them. It's maybe $8 or $9 with tax, but the drawback is that the stuff really smells.

Either way, good luck and I hope this helps.

My hair sounds about the same as yours. I sometimes use a little mousse after a shower and skrunch my hair up with my hands to encourage more curls. I usually air dry it and keep skrunching it up while I get dressed, etc. I've noticed getting even an inch or two cut off makes the curls come much easier.

Shampoo dries out hair beacuse most ot them have a high concentration of sodium laureth sulfate (salt). You may have naturally wavy hair that you are brushing and shampooing the waves out of. Try not using shampoo (just massage your scalp with conditioner to clean it) and putting gel in wet hair. This is not unhygenic- my hair has become less oily and dandruffy since I quit shampoo. Eventually your hair may turn wavy naturally! This takes 2-4 weeks to begin working. Visit the site below for some more wavy/curly tips and a couple straight-to-wavy stories. Hope this helps! (:

Maybe try curlers? Or I just put my hair up in a loose bun when its almost dry but a little damp.. I leave it in for about a half hour, while Im putting on my makeup or whatever.. and it usually gets me a lot of body and wavy. Good luck :)

Try pinning it in little twirls all over your head when wet let it dry and then comb it out with you fingers.

There are a million different ways to braid, twist and bunch you hair up when wet and let try to get the wavy or curly look.

try this:
a)wash hair
b)dont dry it but use curlers on the places of your hair that has a few waves with curlers and leave on for 10-20 minutes
c)take off the curlers and put it in a bun and use a blow dryer and dry your hair then take off the bun

Do this the night before. First get your hair damp, then section it however thick you want, then twist tightly pin it with bobby pins, lightly spray with hair spray. then go to sleep, in the morning open it and just with your fingers undo the twist, you should get wavey hair, do not comb it otherwise it will go Frizzy.

Twist the hair into 1 big twist, then put it in a bun and throw a band around it and go to sleep. Works for me everytime.

I have thick wavy hair as well...I use a curl enhancing hair gel and put it in my hair after I wash...then I flip my head upside down and scrunch it...grab handfuls and keep scrunching towards your head...then gently flip head over and re-scrunch while blow drying on low. Good luck...works for me!
