Lots of water is always your best bet, but Gatoraide is pretty good also. Just be sure to drink something..dehydration will definitly not be a good call for someone on a roof, especially someone with a nail gun!

Everyone else has pointed out a lot of good thing to drink, there are a few things you should avoid.
Anything with caffeine will dehydrate you so stay away from it, and alcohol also will dehydrate you.
Water and sport drinks that are low in sugar are your best bets.

Electrolytes are what's important. Sport drinks have them usually but watch out for the sugar and sodium. Water is great.

I would suggest gatorade because The drink is intended to rehydrate and to replenish the carbohydrates (in the form of sugars sucrose and glucose) and electrolytes (sodium and potassium salts).

When we used to work in the fields, my mom would put some lemon juice into our water (no sugar, just the lemon juice).

Gatorade or something like that, that will replace the electrolytes that are being lost.
