Kings of all cultures have always created alliances with other countries through marriage. Hopefully, Solomon was the most extreme of all kings! He had 300 wives and 600 concubines.

A lot of them only had one wife, but multiple concubines, or basically ladies in waiting. They would come to "visit" the king at his demands. I'm sure there were many children from each woman, but only the legal wifes children were counted as his. I know.. messed up, but that's the way it was.

I'm sorry, but, I really can not help on this issue. I've tried, but could not find any hard facts with supporting concussion. Plus, I don't want to make anything up, because than #1 I would be lying and #2 I would also misslead you.
