I don't think you understand how budgets work. They are presented by politicians. Politicians do not 'help' ANYBODY! They take money from the general citizenry in the form of taxes ... and give SOME of it back ... sometimes. It will be months/years/whatever before ANY of what is in ANY budget actually happens....so don't hold your breath about being 'helped' by a budget that was presented yesterday.

I haven't heard about any budget increases to help student's this year. No increases in student loan limits at least. The CBC website lists a few perks but they are pretty limited. Perhaps the increase in transfer payments will mean more money to schools but that is up to your Provincial Gov't to decide.

Here's what CBC says:

Changes for students

The Canada Graduate Scholarships will receive $35 million over two years and $27 million a year thereafter to support an additional 1,000 students.
The $4,000 limit on contributions to annual registered education savings plans (RESPs) will be eliminated and the lifetime contribution limit will rise to $50,000 from $42,000.
The maximum Canada Education Savings Grant annual amount will increase to $500 from $400
