Dino is my dog. A while back we took him to the vet...He was really sick...We had him at the doggy Hospital for a week And 900 Dollars later we found out he had diabetes...I was floored..I never knew dogs could get get diabetes. I figured that I could handle this But It was not as easy as imagined..But it worked out fine....Then 2 weeks ago Dino started throwing up...I changed his diet and a lot of things I thought I was doing wrong (people food) that was my first guess..... Then I found about the recall on Doggy food..I put him on people food and he is OK I hope...My Question is how do I get him back on Doggy food ...which one is safe not knowing on what food is bad or good...I am Scared. He has already been thru alot...He is going blind..What next..

If he's eating food then the recalls have nothing to do with it. Dogs infected with the food will not eat at all, even the most tempting foods. His diabetes is probably the reason for it. My aunts dog went through the same thing. Sadly he passed away a couple months ago. If your dog likes people food then why not let him have it? It's okay for dogs to eat it. My dogs eat people food everyday. We fry them an egg for breakfast and then they eat peas, mashed potatoes, and ham mixed together. Just DO NOT give him onions or anything with any kind of onion powder in it. It can kill him or make him very sick.

Ask your Vet if your dog needs a prescription diet or what they would recommend. Royal Canin has a good diabetic food. It is available in dry kibble and canned. Check with your Vet first though since your dog is so sick. Also ask him about giving your dog some Pumpkin Pie Filling. It helps when dogs have upset stomachs or diarrhea, also as something to add to their diet when they are changing foods. Any time there is a food change, dogs can get very sick if it is a sudden change. There are also some people foods that are toxic for dogs, and more food that is toxic for Diabetic dogs. That's why you should check with your Vet. That pumpking pie filling is the kind that is not flavored and is basically just pureed pumpkin, no sugar or spices added.
Hope your dog will be okay.
No dry food were affected by the recall. Royal Canin is not made at Menu Foods and so none of their products were on the recall list.
No prescription diets were on the recall list either.

Take your dog to the vet AGAIN. Go to ANY news source and click on the link of the recall! You seem to love your dog, a few more bucks, and a good diet, he'll be great. Wishing you well.

I would get some bloodwork done at the vets to check if kidneys have been damaged, if so file a complaint to menufoods.com and depending on the severity of the damage you may need to put you dog on a special prescription diet.
