Well it's good that you are splitting it up into 2 days, so that's not quite so bad. Make fairly frequent stops, and get up and walk around and stretch. Take a pillow along for your back in case you start to feel back pain. To be on the safe side, you really need to bring a cooler along and keep some bottled water and juice in there so you can stay well-hydrated-- you never know when you could break down somewhere. Take plenty of snacks for in between meals (nutrigrain bars are great), and if you take a cooler you could keep string cheese and fruits and veggies in there also. And of course bring your favorite music to relax you. Just be prepared to stop more often, which may make your trip a little longer. But it will be worth it to keep you comfortable. Good luck!

Being pregnant, you need to get out of the car every 2 hours or so and stretch for at least 15-20 minutes. Which probably won't be difficult because you'll have to pee anyway, lol. Walk around, etc. Bring a water bottle to keep you hydrated. Just in case, check with your medical insurance company to see how your coverage works if you need to seek medical care while on the road or at your destination.

I traveled from California to Colorado driving when I was 6 1/2 months pregnant (20 hour drive). Suprisingly I did not have to go the bathroom as much as I thought I would! Take a pillow to sit on or use behind your back, put the seat back so your legs have enough room, and stop every 2 hours or so to walk around for awhile. Have fun!!!

1) See your doctor first to get the green light. Even if you JUST call, it's a step in the right direction. Get contacts for hospitals and doctors in the areas you will be traveling as well as where you are staying.
2) Stop often. Your bladder will control this, but be sure to also walk around.
3) Keep drinking water. It's easy to forgo water because you'll have to stop. Trust me. Drink it.
4) Bring extra pillows. It'll be nice for the car, the hotel/house you'll be staying at, etc. Trust me. Bring extra pillows.
5) Bring healthy snack foods--carrots, apple slices, etc. Stay healthy on this trip!

Check with your doctor before heading out. He might want to check you out before you leave. When on a long car trip (Or plain, train, anytime you are sitting for long periods) you need to get out and stretch your legs at least once an hour to help prevent blood clots. Have lots of water in an ice chest, along with some healthy snacks.

You'll probably have stops mandated by needing to use the bathroom! Make sure to stop every hour or two and stretch...not a long stop but just get the blood flowing.
