Hi, i had a chihuahua /pom mix puppy in a doggie play pen today she was playing and all of a sudden she fell over she was whining like some one had hurt her and she seemed like she was in a daze she got to where she was sitting and her head was going back and forth like she was dizzy she fell over a few times i brought her in and she had trouble breathing she had pooped twice on her self it was not runny she had about 3 sezures with in a 1 hour and 30 min. time she was breathing like she was in a panic she got to the point where she could no longer sit up and her eyes stayed to one side like they were frozen in place but she could still blink her eyes a few seconds befor she passed away she had a bloody and it looked like a little bit of foaming with the blood from her mouth and nose i had also touched her belly earlyr when she had got to the point where she could not sit all the way up and she lifted her head like i was hurting her. she had fresh cold water in her pen along with .....

purina puppy chow dry dog food i know that the recal was for can and pouch dog food only but i was wondering if the dry dog food could have been effected too ! i need to know if any one has had a dog or cat that has did this befor or if any one can tell me what this is if it's the dog food i will know that i need to change dog food brands. i hate seeing a dog die i want to know what this is so i can prevent it from happening again ! I don't think this has anything to do with the food, your puppy has a seizure disorder. You really need to contact a vet and start medication. My uncle's dog had seizures they just started all of a sudden. your dog needs to go on Phenobarbital for seizures. If you don't get the seizures under control she will go into a seizure and a good chance she wont come out. We ended up putting Chance(my uncles dog)to sleep because the seizures were not controllable. He was old. Please take her to a vet and get the medication for her she really needs it I'm sorry!
