It happens, my Amstaff pitbull always licks. I even posted a question on how to stop it, but I can't and it is just what they do.
She even stands in the doorway licking the air, as well as licks herself me and other objects. It's funny.

She may be bored and understimulated. Dogs that are understimulated will start these behaviors. The steady of the lick, lick, lick can cause a hormonal change and sort of a self hypnosis.

Try more exercise and mental stimulation, like taking her to some training classes. Pitbulls excell in Agility and love it.

sometimes dogs and cats are lacking minerals in their diet, so their body tells them to lick rocks, dirt, and yes brick walls to get the minerals they need. or it could be as easy as something on the wall. wash it with warm soapy water and spray a mix of hot sauce and water in a spray bottle on the wall to get the behavior to stop. or see you vet about the other prob.

She is trying to lick a hole in the wall, so she can escape. Someone will probably give her a pick axe, and then she can make her dash to freedom more quickly.
