Yes that FU. I'm still waiting till Dec of this year & got Disability last June. It's the Government. It sucks too. If Ur like me & got to go to the doctor every month with no insurance it has eaten my lunch. Hang in there. There is a Gov. grant for persons without insurance but i have not looked in to it yet. You could try it. You could also cont the drug manufacturer, sometimes they have programs to help people like us. Hope this gave you something to think about. Good luck

If you are on Social Security Disability you do not get Medicare until you have been on disability for 2 yrs. So if you were just approved, effective February of this year, then that is correct that you will not have Medicare until 2009.
Sorry to say, but there is nothing that an attorney is going to be able to do for you as this is the law that applies to everyone.
I just went through it with my dad, who had a massive stroke 4-06, approved for Disability 10-06, will have NO insurance coverage until 10-08 because his Social Security checks are too much for him to qualify for any state aid for medical coverage. Sadly, he'll be lucky if he makes it that long with no meds (he was on hypertension, diabetes, asthma meds along with Plavix and anti-depressants).

call your case worker or the head of that department .

I was told disability would take some time to get , but then would be back dated to the application date.

Good luck.

your county welfare department may be able to help you in the short term with medicaid.
