Historians are always saying that history is unreliable. The accounts we hear or read about go through so many changes and that ideas and understanding about many things are always subject to change.

There are even groups today, for example that claim that the Holocaust never even happened, even though the history books and video footage show it!

Historians say that historical accounts are even more unreliable when they make incredible claims...

And if the claims are literally unbelievable, it probably wasn't history at all, but rumor or legend!

In order to be a Christian, God expects us to believe a historical account of Jesus, but also the historical references of hundreds of unbelievable miracles throughout the Bible, even though it is not advisable to believe them according to those who understand history the best?

Why does God tell us that we have to believe so many historical accounts that are so very unbelievable?

Historians say history is unreliable because every culture or nation today holds a bias view on how their history should be told. For example, Japan is denying the Chinese/Korean genocide and the forced sex labor during WW2.
The history of Jesus is not official in public education because its unproven and can only be relied on from the doctrines.

People believe what they CHOOSE to believe.
The Bible provides an accurate history from a religious point of view.
Secular historians provide a similar record in support of the Bible. (see Josephus Flavius, Roman historian)

As in a court of law, two people testifying of the same thing from diverse views are considered reliable witnesses.

You are welcome to believe whatever you like. In fact, christianity is the only major religion that encourages you to ask questions and do your own studying. Unfortunately our culture has forgotten how to study and search for truth and instead relies on mass media to spoon-feed us sound-bites.

Remember that back there in time something really did happen. What happened that changed history? There were hundreds of witnesses to the miracles of Jesus. Something caused the jewish leadership to fear him and want to kill him. Something caused the disciples to claim he had been bodily resurrected when it would have been easier for them to say his "spirit" had been resurrected. All their enemies had to do was to produce a body. Something changed the disciples from cowering young men fearing for their lives following the crucifixion to bold leaders who all died spreading the good news.

Would you be willing to die to protect a lie? Wouldn't somebody out of those early witnesses have denied the miracles and resurrection when faced with death if they knew it was a lie?

Christianity does not require blind faith. Do some research and reading and decide for yourself. There are two thousand years of study and writings about these issues if you will only take the time to find them.

Umm actually you can ask any archeologist about the bibles claims and they will tell you that the bible has been VERY accurate.

Jesus is the most documented man in history and wether you believe in him or not you are following his teachings to this day.

Jesus loves you ;)

Does God tell you this personally?

Can you say what it is that God expects?

Or are you just taking someone else's word for it?

God gave you life, a soul, and a reasoning brain.

I think God expects you to use them all to the fullest.
