You are young and it is great that you have hobbies that keep you out of trouble. Show them how much it means to you to skate and play the viola.

Just talk to them. And keep up your hobbies.

Even if you don't become successful at the sport doesn't mean its a waste of time. Its a hobby and its better than being on the computer or in front of the TV all day. Tell them that its also healthy for you because it gets you moving.

Skating is definitely NOT a waste of time. my lil sis skates and she just loves it!!

it sounds like your parents are very strict if they call "skating" a waste of time..mebbe your parents are a weee bit jealous lol..there are many benefits to skating including socializing, meeting new people, exercising, and improved balance & coordination.

you're too young to be this worried about being successful, trust me you'll have plenty of time to plan your future..and always remember there are many paths in life you can take to be a success...it sounds like you will have it easy since you're skills are well-rounded, you probably have lots of unexplored talents!! ...

good luck!
and have fun out thurr!!

Sometimes parents and their kids do not see eye to eye, i believe that you should do what you love and if your parents love you that much, they will accept that a skater is what you want to be.
