So far only 2 of you that I see are aware that the apostles were long dead when the New Testament was finally in a written form.

mhm i`m in a Catholic private school. learning about the Old and New Testament now actually. as for the Old Testament, they were works written over 1000 years by many writers. The New Testament is written about 50 years after Jesus' death -- these would be including the Gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke and John, along with the other New Testament Books.

Eh, all of the apostles didn't exactly write the book, even the Evangelists aren't exactly the full authors of the Gospel books named after them. They were written by a variety of followers of Jesus because they were trying to preserve the message and works of Jesus after realizing that the Second Coming wouldn't come during their lifetime. The Bible consists of many authors, and many books -- many books of the Bible still missing or just lost. The Bible had been passed down, originally, by oral tradition, but then once the scrolls/books being collected, copies and copies have been made since then. All these Biblical writers being inspired by the Holy Spirit as they write the word of God.

Well yes some were the original 12 but there were many others. The Bible is composed of 66 books. The first books of the Bible were written by Moses. And then many others from Kings to fishermen. All words in the Bible are inspired by God. Yes these men were merely the instrument to record what God wants us to know. No need to research this if you have a relationship with the Lord. Its sad to see some answers here America and the world have really lost touch with the Lord. He is coming soon repent and be baptized. Amen and Peace out...........

Wow I just read your posts after your question. You are really misinformed. Perhaps you need to do some leg work on your information. Dont read one thing and take it as fact if you do that makes you a fool. And from your responses up top it looks as if that is what you have done. Do a little research dont be afraid to ask questions. Get into your research and you may actually come out of this with a new perspective and a new best friend. The Bible was written by many different people over hundreds of years. Early scribes copied the manuscripts and counted the letters to make sure they got it right. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 1940's proved that the Old Testament has not changed significantly in 2,000 years; the differences are very minor. Many Greek manuscripts of the New Testament have been found dating to the 2nd century, and a few fragments in the 1st century AD. The above answer is very wrong. The differences do not affect any major Christian doctrine and are usually matters of spelling or use of different words that have essentially the same meaning.
A list of what was commonly considered "inspired" writings was made about 180 AD; in the 4th century, the Roman Catholic church added a few books to the list; they did not leave out any that were in the list.

The Old Testament was written by many scholars. The Penteteuch, or 1st five books of the Old Testament are believed to have been first written down by Moses who was educated as a prince of Egypt. These original manuscripts are lost. The earliest manuscripts (The Septuagint) still available were believed to have been written between 250 - 200 BC. This is the scripture Jesus referred to.

The New Tesament was written by the Apostles and their followers. Most of these individuals were alive during Jesus ministry on earth. Some New Tesament books are dated as early as AD 60, which means that they were written while witnesses to Jesus ministry, crucifixion and resurrectionwere still alive. The New Testament was complete by AD 100.

Apostles and other disciples of Jesus Christ wrote the books now found in the New Testament.

Most of the books of the Old Testament were written by prophets chosen of God.

A non-Christian Roman Emperor pretending to be a Christian and the Catholic church picked and chose the books they would include and the ones they would but no one really agreed on the books that would be included and the ones that would not. Some were even kicked out of the church for believing that some books should be included even though the Pope didn't want to include them.

I settle for as actual with you that toddler baptism is valid, yet let's inspect the verses and statements you provided. - "let the little ones come to me" has now no longer something to do with toddler baptism. This replace into Jesus' representation of the childlike faith we are to have with God. - you come back again very close to to a works-oriented view of salvation once you assert that baptism is had to pass into the dominion of heaven. Baptism isn't a free pass. again, your quote of John 3:5 has now no longer something to do with toddler baptism. - you do not have any records that "finished households" ought to favor to have lined little ones, and credo Baptists will reject this argument right away. a more advantageous ideal argument utilising those verses ought to possibly be that the custom of the day in contact authority mandating it, which may have utilized to larger powerful halves, servants, and childrens of any age, by way of very actuality Papa stated so. you're most suitable, although, that the Bible doesn't forbid toddler baptism. this may placed the load of understanding onto the credo Baptists to coach how guy or woman judgements ought to favor to be made interior the face of a custom that ought to favor to have rejected Christianity outright if baptism did now no longer comprise the little ones.
