I haven't been able to download Open Office on Vista and was wondering if I even could.

Download the executable and try right-clicking and going to 'Properties'. Then click the compatibility tab and run it in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2. Then okay out. Then, right click on the executable again and go to 'Run as administrator'. Should work fine. Apparently version 2.2 will be better equipped to run on Vista.

Yes, Open Office.org 2 is.

See here for the requirements:

You state that you haven't been able to download Open Office, is this because for haven't tried yet, or because it cuts out? If it is because it cuts out, this has nothing to do with Vista. I would recomment that you use a downlad manager like FDM (http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/).

Hope this helps

Not that I am aware of, best shot would be to install it on vista and see what problems may come of it.
