Now at the local level you will have a mixture of both, Auto trannys are allowed in all divisions only requiring a certain size torque converter (10 or 11 inches), and some classes require an Auto tranny.

Most race cars are manual. Even Formula 1 are manual, they only use the clutch for pit stops though.

all manual...speeds differ depending on where ur running...nascar has a 4 speed tranny...rally can go up to 6 speed, formula 1 has 7 speeds, others have 6, while some just run a low and high shift

They are all manual. One big resin is at pit row they have to be in a certain gear at a certain rpm to know their speed. Also at take off they need the low gear so they will not burn the tires up.
