My best friend is a girl and people always think that we're dating or will end up dating. So I just want to know what you think.

Of course. My guy friends and I have never have anything between us. We get along because of shared interests (camping, job, etc), and good company.

of course a guy and a can be best friends! two of my best friends in the world are s, but the dating thing does come along a lot. i mean one of the s i was talking about is my friend as well but that doesnt change that she is still my best friend and we tell each other everything and have fun together and just hang out like my other best friends. but i am a person who has to date good friends so it may be different for you
bottom line it doesnt matter if people think you two are going to be dating, it may happen it may not. but if you two are just friends than it can stay that way.

Hi - I totally disagree! I think it is very poss able for a guy and a girl to remain best friends without dating or anything of the sort! I think it at times can take some work and you for sure need to be careful but you can be friends and not date! I'm glad for you because it is nice to have a friend from the opposite sex that you can talk to and depend on.

My best for 16 years is a man. We have never been anything for than friends. He is my 9 year old daughters godfather, and he has been there for me through alot in my life. He got married almost 2 years ago, and I am friends with his wife also. But I also had a guy who I was really good friends with who developed feelings for me. He kept them hidden for over a year. When he told me and I didn't share the same feelings it hurt the friendship. We are not friends like we use to be, but he is dateing someone now and that has helped.
Men and women can be friends.

no, a guy and a girl can be best friends. I am a 16 year old girl and i have more guy friends than friends who are girls. But I have gotten to know one more than the others and i really have fallen in love with him. But he thinks of me as nothing more than a friend and i couldnt tell him that i love him. It would completly mess up our friendship. So just be careful!!

My best friend is a guy and we talk about everything and it never gets awkward. People always said we'd end up together but he's like my bro and would never see him like that. I've always been closest mates with guys and alot of girls used to think i was sleeping with them but you can be friends of the opposite sex without wanting to jump in bed with them.

Sure u can be friends forever, but at some point you will probably want her and she will probably want you. When people of opposite sex are that close, the guard comes down sometimes and things might happen. Just enjoy her friendship and don't overthink it. Would it be so bad if you guys did end up together?

and yeah i have alot of really close close guy friends and i'm 17 and noone says anything now a days but in middle school that's what people would say..
but you never know, you may end up with her =] not at all a bad thing
