How did Jesus spread his word so well, they didn't even have television back then..Or did they? he must have had good marketing agents. How do you believers of god feel about being tools?

I'm being used as a hammer to squash flawed opinion.

Who uses you to hammer what? It is easier to attack and destroy rather than build or create. The world is not perfect, but what right do you have to preach hate? In the Gospel Of Thomas, Jesus speaks of returning to the world and setting it on fire - -but this is too deep for many to understand. Peace be with you Anton. I once read the Satanic Bible - very interesting and a powerful book. Nevertheless I regret having given it away - it might well have been used to service dark thoughts. Don't hammer the weak. The world has enough pain as it is. Use your hammer to forge weapons that can help humanity - it's never too late.

Transversely, it could take alot of peoples' words to spark a flame, and then a single person to set the fire blazing.
Jesus probably spread his word so well because his words and actions were controversial, hence, he became a kind of celebrity. As for 'believers' being 'tools,' I think it is how Marx phrased it: 'Religion is opium of the masses.' There are many 'hammers' they are called scientists. :o)

who ever said Jesus had a large following back then "in his life time" . I really believe the history book will corraborate that the following came after his death and in the presence of his legend .Urban legend is the tool of word of mouth in lieu of no television . yes the authors of the new testament were well versed whether true or not . Believers in god have their own minds to choose with and whether wrong or right no one has the right to foist an opposing opinion merely the voice to state what they choose as well . I believe in a secular metaphoric slant ;vox populi vox dei but I'm an atheist in contrast to the outlook of the theist platform and hence dropped out of the club . after all the major real benefit to religion in my thinking is social because the rest can be aquired through reading .

Let's use a modern day analogy here. Let's say you have a medical condition, such as cancer, a deformed hand, blindness, or AIDS, and all of a sudden, you heard that there was someone able to heal you, would you not go to any length to meet that person? Word of mouth travels based on reputation.

Jesus' reputation was caring, compassion and healing and it drew people by the thousands to meet him.

So, no I don't feel like a pawn, but I do feel the love and compassion that Jesus gives me.

Your "hammer" is flaccid and impotent. I have not seen one enlightening answer or question posted by you yet.

Since the ascension of Jesus Christ, Christianity has spread via the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit among the truly faithful and obedient. I have personally ASKED God to use me as a tool for His glory, rather than my own. Our relationship with God is voluntary, and must be if it is to be genuine.

Did you know he sent out many other disciples first ("Before the "Calling of the 12.") to tell people about him? Religion started from Oral tradition. Man in connection with God. Even Hammarabi's Code mentions one God. (Go to a "Museum.") And a door to door salesman CONS you into something. J.C. refuted words from "Esteemed scholars and Political figures," Basically saying man with money and power is not God. Why would a man with such wisdom teach to the poor when he knows he could have it all?

I watched a show yesterday about how Jesus told people during passover that the very expensive baths (which were required) were not necessary. If I was poor during that time, I could see how his messages would be appealing.

hope and fear are powerful tools to spread an idea.
aka heaven and hell.
people then were impressionable and needed guidance (and control, via government) im sure the governments pushed it, but we have little data on that era to show the spread of Christianity.
