My vet told me today they have a 3 year shots for dogs and that i wouldnt have to bring my dog back for shots for 3 years do they make thesse shots or not?

The vet must be talking about a rabies vaccine. If the dog has it while under a year old it is only good for 1 year, if the dog has the vaccine when it is over a year old (an adult) the vaccine lasts for 3 years. Other vaccines such as DHLPP (Distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parinfluenza, parvovirus) are usually yearly vaccines.

Nnew research has shown that the same shots given for decades annually actually last 3 yr (or more sometimes). It's those vets still clinging to the annual protocol that are out of it ...

Yes, a lot of vaccines, like the Rabies vaccine are now available in 3 year updates instead of updates every year.

I think it depends on the vaccines, but i get my annually anyway.
It's unsettling that you don't trust your vet...maybe it's time to find a new one.
