I have been lucky enough to have felt that connection the moment they were born, it has never changed. The same connection now they're 11, 9, and 3. I believe we'll always have it.

I don't know if I ever felt that 'real mommy' connection with my kids (15 & 5). I always thought that I was missing a weird mommy gene or something. I took good care of my kids and I gave them all the love I had but I never got that 'connection' I used to see on TV or read in the books. What I did have was a deep love and feeling of protection for my kids. I couldn't wait to get away from them when I traveled for work but if I felt they were threatened in any way, I became a lioness protecting her cub. Everyone connects and loves in different ways. Don't look for the magic moments. Just appreciate and cherish all the little ones that happen every day.

The moment you hold child your against your body is the moment that bonds the love together. The connection comes when you emotional of affection swells in your heart. Take you new born and spend time alone bonding deeply. You must set aside your personal situation and devote your attention only on your child, including excusing the father to do this.
Express a loving kiss and then rub your soft cheeks on top of you child's head. You and your child would be connecting with each other, but must devote your emotional feeling toward your child.
There aren't any age to connect with your child.

I felt connected to my daughter before she was born. She turned towards my voice in the delivery room. I loved every second of her infancy and childhood, but I felt most connected during her years as a teenager, particularly during eighth grade when she felt so insecure and awkward and out of place and just, generally, miserable. I knew it was a passing phase; I could see her true beauty and spirit emerging. I had a very lonely childhood, and I was determined to be a better mother. I sat by her bedside almost every night that year, reassuring her, rubbing her back, praying for her, and just loving her. She is happily married now, a beautiful young woman, about to become a mother, herself, in late Summer. It was all worth it....every single moment was my honor and privilege.

From when she was inutero. When she was a newborn and gazed deeply into my eyes she screamed...It was just as I expected...We had always had a bond probably from moment of conception.

I felt a connection to my child the first sign that I sensed I was pregnant.
It was the most incredible feeling.
The miracle of life.

well im a child (actually im 17)....i guess my parents felt really connected to me as a baby or growing up...but i think we're alot more connected now...cuz we've been through alot together...my parents are actually the two most important ppl in my life...and i guess im just one of those teens that understand how much my parents have done for me...and i felt the need to connect and become close wit them...rite abt now...my mom and i r really close we talk abt everything...my dad and i are really even more close...cuz he knows everything that goes on in my life...and i like it that way...kidz sorta gotto understand that they're parents are humans and have feelings and wen u turn against them u hurt them too...and watever they say (most of the timez)...is just for their benefit...i share my views openly wit my parents...and i think that's wat makes us really connected...
