Go with Dionysus he was a lot more fun.
But seriously, I see what you are saying. You are absolutely right. There is no proof that Zeus is or isn't real, same as christianity. Be a trip if it was him all along, wouldn't it?

God has many names. Interesting is the fact that Jesus and Zeus are very similar words. However, there is a certain amount of Historical information about Jesus, while only mythological information exist about Zeus. I have no problem with Zeus being God's name, and I am a Christian. Read Joseph Campbell's books.

You know, the ancient greeks believed so much that zeus was a real god. What makes christians feel as though THEIR god should be the only real god? it's kind of biased. it's just a cultural thing.

That would be kinda hard because there are so many greek gods and goddesses for you to say Zeus was god and they were just people.

I appreciate you acknowledging that God does exist. He would have to--if you are going to compare him to another god.
If you believe your God is Zeus--then your God is Zeus.
zeus is a god--but is he the God
The question is moot since I know you are an agnostic

Zeus is only one of the many, many gods that could possibly exist.
Interestingly, however, the deity described in the Bible can NOT exist, as it is a logical and scientific impossibility. But other deities recognized by humans could indeed be real.

This is the R&S forum, and in case you hadn't noticed, a wide variety of beliefs are represented and hotly defended here. You want to tell us about Zeus? Go for it.

I think you'd have a big enough market to tout song after song about Zeus!
He'll always be there (who?) .....Zeus...
Fighting for you....
Against all those bad children of Gaia...
You know he's the one....
That didn't get eaten, so he's the one....
Zeus....
There for you..
Zeus...
Let's talk about Zeus...
Let's sing about Zeus 24/7/365
We can't get enough of Zeus...
He loves us, but may banish us under a mountain...oh, shucks, that Zeus.
He's your friend...

Yes, I can prove it by standing outside and saying "Zeus is a big dork and he doesn't even know Hercules wasn't his son." If I don't get struck by lightning, he doesn't exist.

if you use all of our arguments, then you are just calling God by a different name. now if you can prove that the Zeus of Greek Mythology (notice the word myth) is our God, i would really like to know.
so prove it.

No, but you can prove to yourself the true God of the Bible exists if you wish to take the challenge.
