My oldest sister brother and youngest sister all go to prestigious art colleges and went to the best art high school in the county. I personally have no talent in art whatsoever but its cool because my brother and sister make good money and thats a benefit. The downside is when everyone ask me why I can't paint or draw. I feel that I am like them because I do write poetry.

i come from an artistic family. my grandfather can paint sceneries just as good if not better than that bob guy that used to be on tv all the time. my mother has been an award winning tattoo artist for over 20 yrs. i have even won some awards for my art. i dont do the typical stuff though.... i like abstract art best. i plan on being a tattoo artist as well. ive been learning bits and pieces since i was 12.

i think the benefits to having an artistic family is they're more down to earth, more open minded, and receptive to others ideas.

i cant think of a downside to my family being artisitc.... i can think of plenty other reasons theres downsides to my family; but being artistic isnt one of them.

All my family play music including myself I play guitar.my family is getting up in age and when they were all young they never had the chance to go out to make up a band. So we all play at parties and the benefits are we all have a great time along with all our friends. The downside is no one wants to ever go to bed when we party. But it's a blast. We have one big party in the summer with fireworks ,food, music, special guest come so it's like a long week-end thing .no one beds down and we go for 2 nights .Now that's a party.

My mother was an artist but believed that all artist's starved and could not make a living at it, so she became a hairstylist. I have made money off of my art but there were times when I had to do cocktail-waitressing and bar-tending to feed my kids and pay the bills. The benefits ? We enjoy our work.

Neither of my parents is musical or artistic, but all three of the children are. My brother is a director of bands, and all three of us met our spouses in music related venues. My husband is an artist as well, so I will be interested to see how our children turn out. We sing a lot, and our daughter (at 2.5) likes to sing a lot of different songs, and can pick things up quickly. The hardest part is going to be not forcing them if they are not interested.

My dad is a musician.
I turned out to be a music teacher and performer.
My kids love music and they are only 1 and 2 1/2 yrs old.

Benefits, we can all share music together and perform together. My dad and I play in an orchestra together and that is really cool. I play music all day and my kids love to dance and sing. We are generally happy.

Downside...hmnnn......Can't think of anything...
